Optical fiber transceivers are important equipment that we commonly use to convert electrical signals into optical signals and convert them, also known as photoelectric converters, which are used in various ultra-long-distance or places with special requirements for transmission speed.
The following is to share with you the six common fiber optic transceiver problems and solutions.
The power light is not lit
(a) Verify that the power cord (internal power supply) and power adapter (external power supply) are the power cord and power adapter that match the transceiver and are plugged in
(b) If it is still not lit, you can try to change the socket position
(c) Replace the power cord or power adapter
The electric port light is not on
(a) Confirm that the twisted pair is connected to the transceiver and the peer device
(b) Check whether the transmission rate of the peer device matches, 100M to 100M, 1000M to 1000M
(c) If it is still not lit, try to replace the twisted pair and the opposite device
Network packet loss is severe
(a) The radio port of the transceiver is not connected to the network device or the duplex mode of the device at both ends does not match
(b) There is a problem with the twisted pair and RJ45, and the network cable can be replaced and tried again
(c) The problem of optical fiber connection, whether the jumper is aligned with the transceiver interface
(d) Link attenuation is already on the verge of the transceiver's acceptance sensitivity, i.e., the light received by the transceiver is weak
Intermittent
(a) Check whether the twisted pair and the optical fiber are well connected and whether the link attenuation is too large
(b) Detect whether it is a fault of the switch connected to the transceiver, restart the switch, and if the fault persists, the switch can be replaced by a PC-to-PC PING
(c) If you can PING, try to transfer files above 100M, observe its transmission rate, if the time is long, it can be judged that it is a transceiver failure
Communication freezes after a period of time, returns to normal after rebooting
This phenomenon is usually caused by the switch, you can try restarting the switch, or replacing the switch with a PC. If the fault persists, the transceiver power supply can be replaced
The five lights are fully lit or the indicator is normal but cannot be transmitted
Generally, the power supply can be turned off and restarted to return to normal.
